Library of things

What is a Library of things?

A ‘Library of things’ is now open. Working with CK Futures and the Gloucestershire Library Service, any Library members can now borrow a variety of tools and equipments from hedge trimmers to candy floss makers.

Members of the library can now borrow items for a set amount of time for free, and the process will be very similar to that followed when borrowing a book. The offer aims to help people save money, as well as space, as these items will no longer need to clutter up a garage or shed.

  • Why buy expensive equipment for one-off DIY projects or events when you can borrow the items?
  • Borrow popular items such as pressure washers, drills, gazebos, and so much more! Not only will you save money but little used items will no longer clutter up your garage or shed.
  • All you need is a free library membership!
  • Pop into Charlton Kings Library or email cklib@gloucestershire.gov.uk to find out more.

We had tremendous support from the public and private organisations with
our first venture into crowdfunding.

Our target was £10,000, but when Gift Aid has been added we achieved a
fantastic £12,000 in under a week. A big thank you goes to everyone who
donated, whether it was a large or small amount, but we would
particularly like to than the Big Give who guaranteed to double the
first £5,000 raised.

If you would like to make a financial donation towards Vision 21 and the
Planet Cheltenham initiative, click on the ‘DONATE by Paypal’ button at the top of the page.
