Vision 21 is a sustainability charity and it is as much a social organisation as an environmental one. It was formed in 1994 and it operates throughout Gloucestershire. Our vision is to create a sustainable county in which we have vibrant communities working in harmony with our economic, social and environmental needs.
Our aims are to:
1) Provide information or assistance to individuals, community organisations and businesses enabling them to become more sustainable.
2) Operate Reclaim, a furniture re-use scheme for low income families and to provide voluntary vocational placements for people with mental health issues, recovering substance abusers and ex-offenders wishing to give something back to their community
3) Provide environmental projects in which volunteers can learn vocational skills and improve inter-personal skills, as well as learn about the relationship between natural resources and the need to re-use/recycle more
4) Support the local economy by helping to facilitate greater use of local services and products.
