Annual University Festival, and Mark Wood will release the University’s Sustainability Strategy 2017-2022
We are delighted to welcome Mark Wood, notable polar
explorer and adventurer, who has completed over 30 major
expeditions to date.
Mark will spend 3 months from August – October this year
training in the Himalayas and at Everest Base Camp preparing
for the expedition to the summit which will take place in the
spring of 2018, where he will use cutting-edge technology
to connect with over one million students in 8848 classrooms
around the globe.
Mark is ranked in the top 5 global communicators on the
Skype platform, and featured in major BBC and Channel 5
documentaries. He uses his unique experience to help people
think differently, to inspire leadership, and to raise awareness
of climate change and cultural differences.
This public lecture forms part of
the annual University Festival and
marks the release of the University’s
Sustainability Strategy 2017-2022.
Refreshments will be available on
arrival at Elwes Foyer from 3.30pm.
The lecture will begin at 4.00pm
and conclude by 5.00pm.
