Energy Efficiency Worker for Cheltenham's Voluntary and Community Sector

A reduction in carbon emissions means a reduction in fossil fuel energy - which means a reduction in energy bills. So if the incentive of treading more lightly on Gaia is not sufficient motive, what about the incentive of saving money for your organisation?

Vision 21 has been selected by the Low Carbon Partnership (the partnership responsible for delivering Cheltenham’s ambition for reducing carbon emissions as set out in the town’s Sustainable Community Strategy) to help them deliver carbon reductions amongst the Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations.

To facilitate this Vision 21 has appointed Mike Bush as an Energy Efficiency Development Worker. Mike is an experienced Energy Advisor, who in the past has worked for Severn Wye Energy Agency giving advice on energy saving and renewables. Personally he has monitored his own energy usage for 12 years and put in place energy saving measures in his household to reduce his energy usage from 34,000 kWh p.a. in 1997 down to 5000 kWh p.a. in 2009 (15 tonnes of CO2 down to 2 tonnes of CO2).

Mike will be available to visit your organisation, conduct a walk-around assessment, help you establish and monitor your carbon footprint, recommend energy-saving actions and provide all-round support and advice.

If you are keen for your organisation to play its part in helping safeguard the climate for future generations please contact Mike at mbush@vision21.org.uk or on 07999 874400.
