Cheltenham Business Survey

In January 2007 Vision 21, in partnership with Parklife, Cheltenham Borough Council and the University of Gloucestershire, secured a grant from the Council’s Second Homes Fund. Using this money the organisation has undertaken a survey of waste and energy use in businesses on industrial estates in Cheltenham. A team of six canvassers was employed. They visited companies based on the two largest industrial estates in the town and helped them complete a questionnaire.

The objectives of the survey were to:

• Assess current practice on waste and energy management
• Promote sustainable alternatives
• Put businesses in touch with sources of help and information to change practice
• Sign businesses up to become members of the Green Business Club (GBC)
  

The project report was produced with support from Commercial and is entitled Green Beginnings in Cheltenham: Survey into the Cheltenham Business Community's Action on Waste and Energy Use.
