Cheltenham Community Champions
Cheltenham Community Champions are a team of volunteers raising awareness of climate change in Cheltenham. Champions are provided with information on a variety of issues and campaigns and practical projects are developed. Champions then pass on the information to neighbours, family members, friends and colleagues enabling and encouraging them to engage with the issues and pass it on further.
Some of the champions current and previous work includes:
-
Energy Monitoring – Champions use energy monitors on home appliances to measure usage. Efforts are then made to reduce by 10% on the third week and then passed on to next champion. Please ask to participate.
-
Canvassing – The champions will be visiting homes in Cheltenham to let people know about changes to their local authority services. We welcome anybody who would like to help by being a point of contact for their street/or wider neighbourhood. If this is of interest you can lend as little or as much time/area coverage as you like – it all helps.
